Creative Western Adventures is a niche inbound tour operator specialized in Aboriginal tourism, in the discovery of the real West and North of Canada all year round. The Calgary Stampede has appointed us as their official agent for package design combining the greatest outdoors rodeo in the world with soft adventure in our beautiful area.
We are a group of individuals with unique characters complementing each other well. Together as a team we are committed in fulfilling our vision with a tremendous zest of life. We enjoy working in a small team environment, love to interact with people, strive to give our clients an unforgettable and memorable experience. In all we do we have a great desire to spend much time in the outdoors for our own enjoyment but also to be able to vividly share it with our clients from around the world.
Suzanne Eugster - CEO and Guide (English, German, French, Spanish)
Suzanne who was instrumental in developing Creative Western from its outset in 1993 is leading it together with her passionate team to the next level. Suzanne has great taste and imagination and is particularly gifted for the design of beautiful and unusual experiences in nature and in culture. Her love and connection to the Natural World takes her into the wilderness winter and summer. She also has a strong interest in the spirituality of First Nations and practices some of its aspects under the guidance of Native Elders. She is currently furthering this interest by pursuing a MA in Transpersonal Psychology with concentration in Ecopsychology with Naropa University in Boulder Colorado. And if she needs even more balance in life, she'll jump on the bike and rides with the wind, or gets on the skis and makes beautiful tracks in the pristine powder.
Jasmin Ogroske - Office and Marketing Assistant Manager (German, English, Spanish)
Having studied International Tourism (BA) in Germany and the UK and done her practical training with Creative Western in 2008, Jasmine decided to join us on a full-time basis in 2009 as an Office & Marketing Assistant Manager. This is to the greatest delights of many of our clients as she has been praised all along. She is involved in developing customized proposals and itineraries and supports us at shows and with other marketing related issues. Her strength lies in the balance of great administrative skills, a sound ability in decision-making and yet an extravert and natural talent to communicate with our clients professionally in a very caring way. In her free time she loves to spend time in the outdoor to discover nature and culture. One of her passion is music as she played with a band in Germany.
Karin Gerritsen - Web developer and Guide (English, Dutch)
Fluent in both Dutch and English, Karin narrates city tours for Dutch and Belgian groups for Creative Western Adventures. In another life she runs her own IT company (www.semper-it.com) which specializes in home/office IT services, web design and development, scientific programming and research consulting. If you like this CWA web-site, you may want to contact her! She holds a Ph.D. in Medical Science which she puts to use at The University of Calgary every year to teach a senior undergraduate course in Biomechanics (with an emphasis on musculo-skeletal modeling and computer simulation of human movement). Karin also runs the Junior Development Program of our local orienteering club (www.orienteeringcalgary.ca). Other than that, she's quite busy with three little ones at the moment!

As a full-time, professional Tour Director, Alma Bernasconi, brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Having travelled extensively throughout Alberta and British Columbia, among many other destinations, she is very passionate about all aspects of guiding. Entertaining and fun loving, with a zest for life, that's highly contagious, she is eager to share information and experiences. As an avid hobby photographer, she revels in capturing the breathtaking beauty of the Canadian Rockies, the surprise appearance of the elusive Grizzly Bear, a majestic Eagle soaring high over endless forests, and so much more. She enjoys meeting people from all over the world, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories for our guests.
Ignaz Eugster - CFO
Ignaz brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in organizational development and management through his life long years of experience as a financial advisor and business owner. Working more behind the scenes, his work is crucial. His expertise in finances and keeping the books in order brings all of us peace of mind. He is very diligent in all the things he does. His passion for the game of golf takes him from the Alberta golf courses to the warmer destinations during the cold Canadian winters. His love for his children and grandchildren in Switzerland take him back on a yearly basis.
Leandro - Guide (Spanish, Portugese)
Leandro is from Argentina and has been in North America for a few years under the Working Holiday program. Currently, he is studying at SAIT Polytechnic in Calgary towards a BA in accounting.
He loves life in Calgary, and that is why he chose this place for his education. At the same time, he likes to explore the mountains and all the beautiful areas of the Western provinces. He is still thrilled about all the opportunities that Canada offers. Those are all reasons why he likes to guide as he enjoys the contact with people and can share his knowledge and excitement with our Spanish and Portuguese speaking clients.
Neil MacLaine - Guide and Outfitter (English, French)
Neil is our partner for horseback riding backcountry trips in the Rockies. In addition, we often work together as a team in a multitude of wilderness programs. Neil (a former survival instructor in the Canadian Forces) has tremendous knowledge of the outdoors. His bio includes over 2000 miles of wilderness canoeing and dozens of mountaineering expeditions! He has pioneered a number of rides in Alberta and the Rockies, many of which started as attempts to deduce and retrace the routes of the first explorers. His interest in history and native culture has led him down many interesting trails, both physically and spiritually. Neil's wife Undine is from Germany where she competed in dressage and jumping. The two very different riding traditions that they bring together gives them a wide understanding of horsemanship and a unique ability to impart his knowledge to their guests.
